I don’t do a lot of family sessions, but when I do, they’re usually MY family and they usually don’t involve anxious sweating and nervous laughter. That’s exactly the emotion I felt as I casually took photos of my sister-in-law, Addison, her boyfriend, Scott, and my niece, Hadley.
Scott approached me a little over a week ago and asked a favor. He wanted to do something super special for Addison — something we all saw coming, but just weren’t sure when — And he decided to make me an accomplice in his plan. Disguised as a simple family photo session, this particular one was not going to end with me going home and eating an entire pizza by myself (although, I definitely could have stress at the heck out of a large stuffed crust). The plan was, for me to coax Addison into doing a mock family session that ended in an engagement! It was my job to choose the perfect place and set it all up. It was HIS job to NOT BLOW IT! (SPOILER ALERT: I rocked my part)
I decided on Mount Sequoyah, because of the beautiful blooms and the breathtaking overlook. The session started out like most of our family sessions: Trying to get Hadley to stay still and smile. The weather was PERFECT and the timing was just right. We started at the bottom of the mountain with some super sweet family photos, and then headed to the south view for the grand finale. Did he blow it? Did she say “yes”? Well…..
THAT’S A YES 😉 Welcome to the family, Scott! And Congratulations! I am so honored I was chosen to be a part of this special moment! Now the real fun begins!
